Sir Isaac Newton would have loved the Power Plate® machine. His second law explains how Acceleration Training™ works. Force is produced by accelerating your body (represented by mass in the equation). So instead of adding weights, we simply move you, to create forces up to an equivalent of six G's.
Frequency is how many times the plate's surface moves per second. Power Plate machines can be set at between 25 and up to 50Hz. What is the difference? Higher settings are best for massage, to stimulate circulation, while lower settings are better for strength, balance and core training.
It's not called Acceleration Training™ for nothing. Power Plate® workouts are so fast because the whole body vibration triggers more muscle fibres to engage during every exercise. When you set the machine to 30Hz for 30 seconds, and perform an exercise, just imagine how many times your muscles respond to the vibrations...
